SLAYER, CHILDREN OF BODOM, L.A. GUNS Attend 'Metal: A Headbanger's Journey' Screening In L.A.
May 2, 2006Some of heavy metal's finest were on hand last month (April 13) to help celebrate the "Metal: A Headbanger's Journey" AFI screening at the Arclight Theatre in Los Angeles. Directed by anthropologist Sam Dunn, the documentary explores the world of heavy metal with the help of the artists that helped define it like Bruce Dickinson, Rob Zombie, SLAYER, Vince Neil and more.
Screening attendees included SLAYER, CHILDREN OF BODOM and Phil Lewis of L.A. GUNS, all of whom are featured in the film.
"Metal: A Headbanger’s Journey" will be released on DVD May 23 through Warner Brothers Home Video and includes a two-disc package with 87 minutes of special features including:
* 16 extended interviews with metal rock icons!
* 20-minute mini-documentary on Norwegian black metal
* Footage with Lemmy from MOTĂ–RHEAD at the Rainbow
* Director's commentary.
* Travel outtakes
* An awesome interactive metal history family tree, created specifically for the DVD. All on two discs!
